This past Friday night, Kacy's middle school band once again ventured down to the AT&T Center to perform on the court prior to the Spurs game against the Sacramento Kings. This is Kacy's second year to participate in this activity and I have to say that it is pretty cool. Last year the band walked past several New York Knicks when making their way through the tunnels to the court. Kacy truly enjoys this event.
When Friday rolled around and the girls made their way home from school, we headed out as quickly as possible. Kacy had to be outside the arena by 5:45, and I had to make another broken lens related stop on our way downtown. We stopped by the Traylor's house where we exchanged Abby for Reagan. The Traylors become good friends of ours, and recently, neighbors! During this time, Kacy and Reagan have decided that they are kind of an "item." They also have a daughter the same age as Abby, and they are good friends, also. I forsee a lot of this "swapping" going on in the future...
Anyway - we rolled out, made our stop, met Marcus at the Quarry, and then sprinted for the AT&T Center. This is where the fun starts.... not. While it is a great experience for the kids, it's just one long line after another for the parents. Thankfully, the end result is the performance, and of course that makes it all worth the wait.
Here are some pictures from our evening (click on photos to enlarge)...

On the court... I've "starred" our little star!
The band sounded great and it was a lot of fun to watch! WTG, Kacy!
It ended up being a neighborhood night at the Spurs game. Our next door neighbors were at the game...
And at half-time our neighbor across the street performed with the Reagan dance team. Don't even ask me to tell you where she is, but I promise she is out there somewhere! WTG, Darby!!
We also watched some basketball while we were there. Here's Tim taking a shot in the 3rd quarter...
We left at the end of the 3rd quarter because we had an early Saturday morning with volleyball and basketball. Sadly, the Spurs ended up losing, so I guess it was fine that we didn't stick around to see that ending.
It was a fun night. Who knows what the Reagan band will hold in store for us next year!!
